I see says the blind woman....

as she picks up her hammer and saw.

I can see!  I got a cataract removed from my left eye yesterday.  The operation almost didn't go well because I got really antsy. I was too jumpy on the table so they had to stop the operation.  I will have to get my eye lazered later to finish the job.  The doctor said I was near the top of list as the most fidgety patient.

Seattle: Murphy's

I went to Murphy's for a pint and a burger this past Sunday.  They had no Stella on tap so I had the closest thing, a German Pilsner.  The pilnser tasted better than Stella.  We also sampled a rather tasty stout which tasted like a diet Guinness.  I don't think diet Guinness exists but this beer would be it if it did.

My friend Noah after only 1 pint!

My friend Grant not liking having his photo taken!

Murphy's has dart boards and a stage for live music on the weekends.  They are located on 45th in the Wallingford District.

Seattle: SOPA

If you aren't familiar with SOPA, you should be.  It's a bill politicians are trying to push through congress.  The US government is trying to protect American ideas, art and music from being stolen from people outside the US. Unfortunately the bill is too broadly worded and could shut down everything on the Internet.  This shutting down of websites affects Facebook, You Tube, personal blogs, flickr and and other photo websites.  That, in my opinion: violates the first amendment.  There is allot more to this bill, I suggest you watch some You Tube videos to find out more.  This bill affects everybody not just Americans.

Theatre comedy tragedy symbol

Got stuck on the terrace roof yesterday.  I went up for a look-see and got stuck, and damn was it cold up there.  Thank god people were in the rental office otherwise I would have had to call 911.  I screamed, "Help I'm stuck on the roof".  Kim pulled me out of the snow pile and back to the warmth.  I felt dumb.

Seattle: breakfast of champions

Homemade bean burrito.

1 can of pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 jalapeno peppers, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
Olive Oil
Sea Salt
1 Tbs cumin
1 Tbs chili powder

Saute garlic and onions in olive oil until soften. Add the beans, jalapenos and all the spices.  Give it a good stir and then mash with a potato smasher.  Spread bean mixture on a Mission Whole Wheat tortilla, sprinkle on some cheddar cheese, fold and bake for 15 minutes at 350.  Serve with salsa and avocado.

Oil slick on black top

It snowed again today and will probably snow tomorrow, but I was able to get out anyway.  I didn't like my snow pics but I did  like my BW oil slick.  Bryan Peterson has a cool idea of mixing oil and water in a clear Pyrex cooking dish.  He rests the dish on top of two glasses and then he puts colorful paper or cloth under the dish. When he photographs it the picture comes out in a 70's swirl pattern.  Shoot it at f8, the who cares f-stop.

Seattle Snow

Snow has fallen on my garden Angle

The first footprints in fresh snow.

1 minutes worth of snow that had fallen in my lap.

I went outside on Sunday afternoon, I was headed to SME coffee shop for an espresso.  The shop is only 1 minute away, by the time I got to the shop I had enough snow to make a medium sized snowball.  I like snow but unfortunately it means I'm stuck at home, my wheelchair gets too easily stuck on the ice.\

Top picture taken with my Canon Digital Rebel XSI, bottom two pictures were taken with a Canon A3100.

Seattle's Winter Skyline

Another photo taken with a piece of junk camera, my Canon A3100.  I love the orange tones in the trees and on the edge of the buildings.  I looked at the pictures I took with both cameras and liked the pictures equally.

I want an apartment in this building, check out the view.  Coroner flats have views of the Needle and the sunset on Puget Sound.  Kerry Park on Highland Dr, is in Queen Ann on the hill.  From downtown take bus 2 or 13 and get off at West Highland Dr. and Queen Ann.  Watch out when you cross the street because the first time drivers see you is when they are almost through the cross walk.

Sunset seen from Kerry Park.  If you walk to the end of the street you can get a really get a great view of the sunset and a Marina down below.

People are evil!

Muslim people are no more evil than Christians.
Neither the Bible nor the Koran tell people to commit evil acts.
So many people say they believe what their good book says,
do they really?
Signs like this promote hate.
Governments and the media promote hate.
Organized religions promote hate.
I had a Muslim care giver once,
I asked her do you hate me because I am American?
She said no!
I didn't hate her because she was Muslim.
Can't we all get along?

Three Guys

I saw these three guys on an electric box on the Interurban bike oath.  All three were spray painted over so I had to test mt skills at Photoshop,  I read a great article in Practical Photography about how you don't have to ho far to great photo.  Some of my best stuff I've found with out leaving my apartment.Try gathering up some objects in your house like silverware or office supplies and see what creative pictures you can make.

This scene is a fortune cookie, chopsticks and red card stock.  I lit the scene with cheap shop lights bought at Lowes.  I also have set up many of my scenes in a big window because sunshine is free.
