Seattle's Trayvon Martin protest

It is the annual fuck the police protest.

The protest had a Trayvon Martin theme.

There were more police than protesters. 

The Seattle police had nothing to do with Trayvon Martin.

Jesus wanted Seattle Police to stop killing children?!#

Ummm what children?

 

The police were in a good mood.

And what is a protest without immigration issues thrown in there.

What issue, just go home!

This guy was really raking in the cash.  Everyone who saw him gave a dollar for a picture.  I give a dollar to the homeless people who entertain me. 

Quinoa or Keen Wa

Quinoa or Keen Wa

If you haven't tried this stuff you should.  Its a super food much better for you than rice.  One cup had 3 grams of fiber, 8 grams of protein and only 39 grams of carbohydrates.  Its a good choice of grain for diabetics.

Quinoa and broccoli

1 cup quinoa

2 cups chicken stock

1 small onion chopped

2 cloves of garlic minced

1 cup chopped broccoli

olive oil or butter

Melt two tablespoons butter or heat 2 table spoons olive oil in a medium pot.  Add onion and garlic and saute until translucent.  Add quinoa and saute until light brown.  Pour in chicken stock and bring to a boil.  Cover and turn down heat to simmer.  Set kitchen timer for 12 minutes.  Toss in broccoli, cover and set timer for another 2 minutes.

I went to a classic car show on Saturday.

It was too hot and there were too many people

so getting good photos was difficult.

I tried a macro approach and only photographed pieces and parts.

I was blow away by the colors and shapes.

A Fifties soda shop displayed on a fifties engine.

Even a simple taillight can be a work of art.
