It was raining

Rain in the market!

I love rain!  We had a record 87 days without rain in the Puget Sound.  Too much sun ruins my pasty pallor.

How to cook chicken feet

Art found on a parking garage in the International District.

Dragon mural with King Street Clock Tower and the old King Dome.

Chicken Feet are edible,  I looked for a recipes just to be sure.
 Deep Fried Chicken Feet

! pound of chicken feet
Vegetable oil
2 eggs beaten
Flour
Garlic Powder
Salt and Pepper

Wash, clip toe nails and cut off any loose skin off your chicken feet. (basically give them a fucking pedicure)
Boil in water for two hours drain and let cool.  Mix flour and spices.  Dip feet in egg then flour, shake off excess flour.  You might have to double dip too make sure feet are completely coated.   In a wok heat oil to 350 degrees and then drop feet in cook until golden brown.

One hour of picture taking in Seattle

On First and Pike

I saw one Frankenapple,

money being put to good use,

a steaming cup of coffee in the fog,

and an ode to a road taken.

Veggies of Pike Place Market

Lobster Mushrooms
Not really a mushroom, its a fungus that grows over mushrooms.  Its has a reddish color and a lobster like taste.  Just make sure they are not slimy when you buy them

Oven Roasted Brussel Sprouts

! 1/2 pounds brussel sprouts
1/4 cup Olive Oil
2 garlic cloves minced
Salt and Pepper to taste

Pre-heat oven to 400.degrees. Cut off stems of the sprouts and pull off any yellow leaves.  Mix all ingredients together an spread on a sheet pan.  Cook for 40 minutes.  For even browning move sprouts on sheet pan  periodically

Broccolini Romanesco

No this isn't an alien life form it a combination between cauliflower and broccoli.  These two veggies are so close in relation that they can be easily cross bred.   Great for making soup or oven roasting like the brussel sprouts.

Weedgie Boy (Iain Craig)

Weedgie Boy

I was cleaning out my computer and found this comic character drawn by Iain Craig.   I think he was modelled after Calvin from Calvin and Hobbs.  Weedgie Boy came to life about 12 years ago.  I used to get these care packages from Scotland, the envelope s were filled with newspaper clippings, drawings of our imaginary bar and fliers from clubs around Glasgow.  I still have all those packages somewhere.  I should dig them up and have a look at them.
