May !st Standoff
Please stay calm, we have things under control!
Let the standoff begin!
Workers Unite!
Did this protest really accomplish anything? Windows broken, extra cops needed for crowd control and extra trash that needed to be collected, money that could have been spent on other more important things. I spoke to a cop who said he rather be home watching the Mariners and drinking a beer. We should have all went home and came up with a better plan for change. This isn't the 60's anymore!

Peaceful Protesters
Peaceful Protesters
Flower Children
American Bald Eagle
This part of the protest was in Westlake Park and it was peaceful. It didn't get rowdy until the people from the Jefferson St. protest arrived. Then it was a standoff between them and the police. I saw riot geared policemen and policemen on bikes pushing the crowd off of the 4th. I got yelled at and a police vehicle horn blared at me for being on the street. I got between the police on bikes and the police in trucks. I left soon after the crowd started to disperse.
Poor in Seattle, May 1st protest
Poor in Seattle
We are the 99%
Wells Fargo fixing the windows
I went to the protest yesterday but I got there late. I went down 4th and saw Wells Fargo repairing the windows. People were in the bank when the windows came down, thankfully no one got hurt. Other shop windows were smashed along 5th and 6th. Nike town and Starbucks: not surprising, were vandalized. American Apparel was hit too. Why hit a sweat shop free made in America store?

Pioneer Square, Spray Paint Art
Wall of local celebrities, Seattle
The artist who did them
The wall of art continues around the corner
Any idiot can tag a wall with their name or an obscenity, this on the other hand is ART!! This is worthy of a place in the SAM museum. If you go down 4th almost into the International District there is allot more spray paint art to see.
