There are flowers everywhere in the market and the bouquets are stunning. Every new season comes a new flower, dried flowers in winter, tulips in spring, dahlias in summer and sunflowers in fall. They also sell flowers singly so you can make your own arrangements.
I'm fine, bored but fine. I've been here a little more than a week and I'm looking forward to the day I can sit in my chair again. Eating while laying flat has been a challenge, my bed is full of crumbs every night. The doctor still thinks I may have MRSA again, lets pray I don't.

Pike Place Market: Lock of Love
I found this lock in the market and it reminded me of a picture I saw in a book. In I think Estonia there's a bridge that all couples put a padlock on before marriage. The padlock has their names engraved on it and it proclaims their undying love. How Romantic to see a bridge with thousands of padlock hanging from it.
I'm okay, healing really fast. Unfortunately it will be weeks before I get out of here!

Needle at Dusk
This was taken from the roof of my friend's condo on Capital Hill. Its a shame that a new building blocks the view. The best views of Seattle are from Kerry Park, from a boat in front of Myrtle-Edwards Park or from Harvard street. Harvard is in Capital Hill and its the street that runs along the freeway.

Peas and Mystery Meat
The food is less than stellar here at Harborview. You know the food is bad when a nurse tells you your dinner looks like shit. I came prepared this time with coffee, fiber bars, nuts, popcorn and chocolate. What I really want now is a icy cold diet Coke. Dinner selections always include something smothered in gravy. And the gravy is flavorless
All is well though, my butt is healing nicely. Tomorrow will be will end my first full week here. I have another two weeks before I get out of the clinatron bed. The clinatron is sort of a air mattress and it puts no pressure on my body. No pressure gives my body to heal. My bed has become my office. kitchen. bedroom and unfortunately my bathroom.

isn't it touching?
I saw this in a pioneer square alley. I've made lots of greeting cards with it.
I'm still here in Harborview, but in a different room. I got moved to the burn patients ward. And I bring you news about my recovery. The good news is that my butt is healing fast. The bad news I might have MRSA again. I'm going to pray to what ever deity will listen that I don't.

Harborview Blues
I'm still in Harborview and will be for about six weeks. Most of that time I'm flat on my back. I have a good feeling this operation is going to work. My first go around with flap surgery failed in first week. Flap surgery is like patching a hole in the wall, first you clean out and smooth the hole then you fill it with spackle and finally it has to be let dry. Some tissue was taken from a donor site on my butt and used to fill the hole in my thigh.
I wish this wild horse would take me away! I saw the car in Pike Place Market and thought it was the coolest car ever. I can't imagine anyone not wanting a shiny red Ferrari.
