And I mean shit literally! According to a news report on King 5, raw sewage has been spewing into Bitter Lake for the last 8 years. This lake is in my neighborhood. An apartment building on 143 and Greenwood hooked their sewer pipe to the storm drain system. The storm run-off goes to the lake. I've been wondering why there have been fewer birds every year.
A diver dove into Bitter Lake to see how bad the problem was and quickly got out because his gear wasn't protection enough. Tomorrow the divers will be coming back for another look see. There are 60 units at the Nelson apartment building on 143rd street. And lets just say there are two butts in each unit taking one shit each a day for the last 8 years. I'm not going to do the math, but that is a lot of shit. One lady who lives on the lake estimated that it would pile up to about 3 feet deep. She has also said she has seen gross things floating on the water. I can only guess what that might have been.
