Mt Rainier from the Bainbridge Ferry

Mt. Rainier glowing from behind West Seattle

The news yesterday was so shocking,  6 People dead from one shooter.  I lived in that neighborhood years ago. I went to that coffee shop a few times.  I want to know if he knew any of the people he shot, why that coffees shop and not a busier Starbucks a few blocks away?  The shooter's brother said he wasn't surprised this happened.  The brother said he was really angry about something.  What the hell can you be so angry about that you could shoot 5 people and then yourself?  We all do stuff when we are angry, I deep clean my apartment or break glass to relive stress,  I couldn't shoot people.  How do you get rid of your anger/stress?

It started out with good coffee at Essential Bakery near Gasworks Park
Go there for the best bakery food ever, Hell just go for the smell

Then we left the bakery and passed by a Henry mural

And finally I went to Gasworks to watch the sailboats

Good bye Tim

The other day I was out on my porch tending my flowers, my neighbor who lives in the apartment above me came out and said hi.  I didn't know him well but when ever I passed by him in the neighborhood I always strike a conversation with him.  He is 39 and lives with his mother.  Tim takes care of disabled mother.  He is a really sweet guy always asking me if I need any help he's available, he even gave me his cell phone number if I had an emergency.
Yesterday I was in the library looking for something to read, when a neighbor who I hadn't seen in quite some time asked me if I knew Tim was dead.  I said you have to be making that up I just saw him two days ago.  It's true, he's dead.  His mother found him but it was too late to help him.  I don't know exactly how he passed and I'm not sure what is mother is going to do now that he's gone.  Life just comes and goes so fast, its scary.  I will miss him.

Bus Stop words of wisdom

Gandhi I believe said this.

One day a mother went to Gandhi and said her child eats too much sugar, how can I make him stop?  Gandhi told the mother to come back in two weeks and he will tell her.  Confused, the mother went away and then came back two weeks later.  "Why did you send me away for two weeks?", the mother asked.  Gandhi replied, "I needed to stop eating too much sugar myself first before I could give you any advice."

Are you nuts?

I'm on food stamps or EBT and other public assistance because I really need it.  I spend my money as wisely as I can.  What really pisses me off is when I'm standing in line at a grocery behind a lady with a cart full of soda, chips and candy who pays the bill with her EBT card.  Come on, if you are purchasing all that you don't need an EBT card you just need a class on nutrition.  Why should the government pay for your sweet tooth?  Afterwards the government will have to pay for your diabetic care.

Well Shit!

And I mean shit literally!  According to a news report on King 5, raw sewage has been spewing into Bitter Lake for the last 8 years.  This lake is in my neighborhood.  An apartment building on 143 and Greenwood hooked their sewer pipe to the storm drain system.  The storm run-off goes to the lake.  I've been wondering why there have been fewer birds every year.
A diver dove into Bitter Lake to see how bad the problem was and quickly got out because his gear wasn't protection enough.  Tomorrow the divers will be coming back for another look see.  There are 60 units at the Nelson apartment building on 143rd street.  And lets just say there are two butts in each unit taking one shit each a day for the last 8 years.  I'm not going to do the math, but that is a lot of shit.  One lady who lives on the lake estimated that it would pile up to about 3 feet deep.  She has also said she has seen gross things floating on the water.  I can only guess what that might have been.

No need for pre-soaking

I went to Albertson's yesterday to buy laundry soap and dish soap.  I left the store with my purchases and proceeded to head home.  Half way home I stopped at a crosswalk, a lady waiting to cross with me asked, "did you know your leaking soap?'  I looked down to see my lap covered in laundry soap.  Some asshole had loosened the cap in the store and put it back on the shelf.  I had left a trail of soap 300yrds long.   When I went back they replaced it and told me they were wondering where the soap had come from.

Pioneer Square spray Art Cont.

This raccoon is made up of

these, colorful lines.

Who needs the SAM when you have art like this? Best of all it is free any time you want to look.  For more art like this go to onesevennine.com .  This reminds me of an art project I did in college, stippling.  We had to use dots instead of lines to make a picture.

Seattle skyline at dawn

Early morning crossing

Needle at Dawn

Skyline just before dawn

I Got up at 4 am and took the first ferry to Bainbridge to see what the dawn looked like from the bow of a ferry.  I was blown away as to how amazingly beautiful it was, I must do it again.

More May !st

I don't recommend fucking farm animals.

Peace be with you

We're all are beautiful!

Smile you're on candid camera!

May !st Standoff

Please stay calm, we have things under control!

Let the standoff begin!

Workers Unite!

Did this protest really accomplish anything?  Windows broken, extra cops needed for crowd control and extra trash that needed to be collected, money that could have been spent on other more important things.  I spoke to a cop who said he rather be home watching the Mariners and drinking a beer.  We should have all went home and came up with a better plan for change.  This isn't the 60's anymore!

Peaceful Protesters

Peaceful Protesters

Flower Children

American Bald Eagle

This part of the protest was in Westlake Park and it was peaceful.  It didn't get rowdy until the people from the Jefferson St. protest arrived.  Then it was a standoff between them and the police.  I saw riot geared policemen and policemen on bikes pushing the crowd off of the 4th.  I got yelled at and a police vehicle horn blared at me for being on the street.  I got between the police on bikes and the police in trucks.  I left soon after the crowd started to disperse.

Wells Fargo fixing the windows

I went to the protest yesterday  but I got there late.  I went down 4th and saw Wells Fargo repairing the windows.  People were in the bank when the windows came down, thankfully no one got hurt.  Other shop windows were smashed along 5th and 6th.  Nike town and Starbucks: not surprising, were vandalized.  American Apparel  was hit too.  Why hit a sweat shop free made in America store?

Pioneer Square, Spray Paint Art

Wall of local celebrities, Seattle

The artist who did them

The wall of art continues around the corner

Any idiot can tag a wall with their name or an obscenity, this on the other hand is ART!!  This is worthy of a place in the SAM museum.    If you go down 4th almost into the International District there is allot more spray paint art to see.
